{"id":1182,"date":"2019-03-19T01:19:24","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T01:19:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thehopenet.org\/blog2\/?p=1182"},"modified":"2019-03-19T03:32:31","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T03:32:31","slug":"essential-tremor-observations-by-bruce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thehopenet.org\/blog2\/essential-tremor-observations-by-bruce\/","title":{"rendered":"Essential Tremor Observations, by Bruce"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>Impact of Severe\nInfluenza on Essential Tremor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leading up to and during\na very severe influenza illness, I noticed that my tremor was triggered more\noften and with greater intensity.&nbsp; While\nI have been fortunate that my tremor has not been as severe as many others,\nthis was not the case during my illness.&nbsp;\nSimple tasks, such as eating, holding a cup, and writing were even more\ndifficult.&nbsp; Also, before the flu symptoms\nappeared, tremor triggers became more noticeable but without an apparent cause.&nbsp; Tremors continued to increase as the illness\nprogressed.&nbsp; For two days my sense of\nbalance would occasionally be disrupted, though this could have been due an\nunnoticed inner ear issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the two months since\nthe flu, my tremor has decreased but not to their previous levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>This raises questions:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Did the flu virus itself have a direct physiological impact on tremor triggers?<\/li><li>Or did it simply raise the stress factors in the body that can trigger the tremor? <\/li><li>Regarding recovery, can major life events that create excessive stresses have a cumulative effect on a person\u2019s tremor over time? <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Pets and Their Tremor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Some cats we have owned over the years (generally, those with small statures) have shown a body tremor when full stretching while standing.&nbsp; Age was not a factor.
